Smart TVs are great devices to stream Netflix. One of their downsides is that there is no VPN client. A VPN client makes setting up VPN relatively easy. If you need to watch US Netflix on your Smart TV by using VPN, you need to indirectly enable VPN on  your Smart TV using one of two methods. Either you set up VPN on your router or on your computer. The first method to enable VPN, which stands for virtual private network, on your Smart TV is to set up VPN on your router. Once this is accomplished, all devices connected to that router will have access to its VPN connection. Consequently, you’ll be able to stream US Netflix and the likes on your Smart TV once you connect it to your VPN router. How to enable VPN on Smart TV using Network Sharing

If you don’t want to set up VPN on your router, you can alternatively set up VPN on your PC or Mac computer. After you do that, you need to enable network sharing on that computer.   2. Vpn does not work on modem/routers which come with my provider and yes it would be indeed very complicated to get an additional compatible router and set it up. I tried unlocator and it’s wat the sinplest solution I have ever read about. One click on their web site and one change of dns setting on smart tv. Too bad that Chromecast devices do not have the option to change the dns settings….I use one of those in another room with a non smart tv and I am stuck with Dutch netfkix offering there. In bedroom with smart tv I can watch italian or danish offering…
